AVATAR.......... WOW!

I have enjoyed many movies by the director of AVATAR. Films like Terminator, and Aliens were, and always will be awesome classics.

Now... AVATAR raises the bar on ALL sci/fi or fantasy films SIGNIFICANTLY!

The story is really creative and all that but the presentation of the story is AWESOME and the impact is HUGE!

Enjoy Avatar in 3D with all your family!

ARMORED - Does every man's integrity have a price?

That is a question that is cleverly interlaced within the plot of this action, suspense thriller.

Several characters' integrity is tested to the max in this popcorn flick...

Don't try to get to deep though, for this film isn't trying to go too deep either...

This one is a simple movie, but I think you walk away with a good message: "Some men won't sell their soul regardless of price!"

So go check it out~!

Christmas Carole- VERY FUN!!

I would recommend that you go see this one for two reasons!


1) The story is a classic! It is a heart warming story that is bound to touch your heart!

2) The 3D adventure is very fun! It is a great show, and sometimes when you are flying over London you will be elated!!!

Take the whole family to this one!!!

2012 - It is actually a Feel Good movie!!!

2012 is a pretty darn good "Feel Good" movie disguised as a tragedy flick.

I recommend it because the graphics of doom and destruction are so over the top and so mind blowing that by themselves get your adrenaline rushing....

I guess one likes to imagine putting oneself in seriously dangerous situations, so this film allows you to visualize what it would be like if this world suddenly collapsed.

Go watch it and see how it is twisted into a Feel Good Flick!!!!

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past- Chick Flick of the Year!!!

This was a great chick flick!

It really has a lot of heart! Mathew McConaughey plays the "too cool for one chick" promiscuous playboy- Will he be able to stick to his ways throughout the movie?

Enter Michael Douglas who plays the LMAO master womanizer come back from the grave to give his nephew- a final word of advice-

They basically took The Scrooge theme and re-scripted over into a romantic comedy that works really really well!

This film earns the new title: Chick Flick of the Year!

Surrogates ? -Lame

Kinda sorry to say that Surrogates was sort of lame.
And I hate to do this to Bruce Willis, but it was definitely missing something.

Let me try to explain:

1) The "Surrogates" are machines that humans operate from the comfort of their own homes, by plugging in with some high tech sunglasses and a lounge-chair. They then don't really live their lives any more as the entire society lives via these Surrogates. Of course part of the human race has resisted this way of life and want to overthrow the system- simple enough setting for some intrigue. Granted- the idea is kind of cool, but it is just a different version of The Matrix- same difference- except instead of plugging into a complete new virtual world completely involuntarily, the humans have been suckered into this way of life and are now trapped by it. So as a trap it is not menacing enough- because The Matrix already way out did the magnitude of the trap that is being depicted in this film. Sorry Surrogates, you had lost even before you got started- Not your fault Bruce!

2) The "Surrogates" have powerful robotic capabilities, and can jump around like super-heros, or Terminators. And that is my next point- because the Surrogates are portrayed as being a bad thing from the beginning, the guides you into not liking or wanting to be or use a Surrogate, so when you see Bruce Willis performing humanly impossible feats in his Surrogate self, you're like- whatever. And again the performances have been way out done by the Terminator series, so even the short action clips provided in Surrogates showing cool CGI Robot chase scenes are also behind the 8-ball.

Once again, Bruce Willis, it was not your fault- but Surrogates was not my best choice.

THE GOODS!

This movie was pretty much what I expected...

It was kind of like "Used Cars" with Kurt Russel, 2009 version. The turbo-charged super salesman goes to town using all of his tricks to rescue a dying car lot. Along the way he has a couple realizations, and becomes better for it.

It was fun, raunchy, silly, crazy, but it did not quite connect with the heart as much as I would have wanted it too. 

So I'll say that although it was a little superficial, it did deliver some pretty good laughs

I give it a 7 out of 10, meaning that it was definitely enjoyable but it won't be winning any oscars.

GI JOE

I'll admit I'm almost embarrassed to admit I went and saw GI JOE.

This one is definitely one that you have to be younger than 14 to be able to enjoy it.

It is just too loud....too many explosions...too many computer graphics, and just too little meaningful conversations, and its kind of a shame because they put soooooo much work into the film and into making it visually impressive, which it was.

My advice, drop the young boys to watch it and go watch another yourself....

Basterds ! ! !

I will have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

It is a truly enjoyable film.

Perhaps because the cinematography itself is so rich, or perhaps because the different languages and accents represented are so truly depicted.

Perhaps because we all wanted to see a film wherein Nazi's receive some payback.

Or perhaps because the casting was so perfect.

For various reasons, including full on comedy, violence and violence so comically rendered- gave this film a unique flavor never to be approximated.

I give this one a 10 star rating- 

VALKYRIE

I would have to say that this one is definitely worth it to go and see!
Reason being- it is actually a very realistic account- without overselling the drama of what actually happened in Germany.

Tom Cruise definitely did a good job portraying the charismatic would be Hitler assassin.

I was also impressed by the fact that the theater was full on an early Sunday showing! And there was applause at the end of the movie! So the crowd thoroughly enjoyed it.

Well done to the producers and actors!
